Eclectic and eccentric, walking into Seven Angels feels a bit like stepping into somebody’s living room. With chandeliers, cushions and crochet tablecloths, the décor may be charming vintage chic, but the food is right up to date. Modern British classics with a contemporary twist are served with a dash of European flair by the clever kitchen team.

Customers can’t help coming back for more of the excellent cuisine on offer - particular favourites are the Jersey scallops with garlic butter served on a bed of creamed potatoes, the beef carpaccio served with truffle paste, rocket salad and parmesan shavings and the Beef Wellington (available Fridays and Saturdays only) with mushroom stuffing and red wine sauce served with potato gratin. Desserts are pretty high up the comfort food rating too, with the sticky toffee pudding and the hot apple pie with a touch of maple syrup both proving to be a real hit with diners.

Seven Angels attracts a mixed clientele of business lunchers looking for a comfort food fix and evening diners who want good food in a relaxed, quirky environment. It’s a real find – particularly if you take advantage of their reasonable set menu prices, and possibly the only restaurant in St Helier to do a proper Beef Wellington.
